Cannabis Vape Cartridge Insights to Improve your Experience

The legalization of recreational cannabis in California has generated a flood of new cannabis vape cartridge products. Cannabis vapes are one of the most popular ways to ingest cannabis because it’s highly concentrated and provides almost instant relief. We’ve deconstructed the cannabis vape below and invite you to visit us at ASCENT for your cannabis vape needs.

1. Vape Cartridge Anatomy

A cannabis vape cartridge is one of many ways to consume your cannabis. So what exactly IS a vape cartridge? A typical cartridge looks like this and is made up of a mouthpiece, a chamber, and a heating element. A highly concentrated THC oil is used to fill the cartridge chamber. In order to actually use the cartridge, a USB rechargeable battery is needed as well. The vast majority of cartridges and batteries are “510 thread”. This is the industry standard and represents the fit between the battery and the cartridge. As such, most 510 thread cartridges should work with most 510 thread batteries. There are certainly exceptions to that and you can always check with your budtender if you are unsure!

2. Other Types of Vape Cartridges pax cartridge

As the market keeps growing, an increasing amount of companies are coming out with their own batteries and cartridges that deviate from the industry standard. There has been a spike in pod cartridges, which can look something like these. It is important to know if you are using this type of vape pen because oftentimes the batteries are only compatible with cartridges from that same brand. For example, the only types of cartridges that can be used with a PAX Era pen are PAX Era pods.

3. Disposable Vape Pens

Disposable vape pens are becoming hugely popular, especially here at ASCENT where many of our customers are tourists and want something quick and easy while they’re traveling. A disposable vape pen is pretty similar to a regular vape pen in its function. It comes with a prefilled cartridge. However, unlike your standard vape pen, the battery of a disposable vape comes pre-charged and attached to the cartridge. A disposable vape pen is ready to go right out of the box and once the oil is gone, the whole pen can be recycled. Some dispensaries even have a spent vape pen recycling collection bin.

4. Why Use a cannabis Vape Cartridge?

There are many benefits to using a vape cartridge pen including simplicity and convenience. Unlike the technology and effort required to take a dab, using a vape cartridge is as simple as screwing it into a battery, pressing a button, and inhaling. Not to mention vape cartridges are great for those of us who are new to cannabis or prefer smaller doses. This mechanism of consumption makes it super easy to only take a small puff. Finally, the vapor can be much easier on the lungs than smoke and it has much less odor than smoke.

5. What to Look For in a Quality Cannabis Extract

When choosing a quality cannabis vape cartridge you need to consider the extraction process involved to create the extract. Choose cartridges that use the Co2 extraction process which results in a much cleaner product. Look for products being marketed as “live resin”, “sauce”. and “full-spectrum” because these retain much of the terpene profile of the plant and will provide a rich experience.

Vaping cannabis is one of the quickest ways to find relief from just about anything. At ASCENT you’ll find a large selection of the most popular brands of cannabis vape cartridges.
